Okay, here we go.  A whole new show just to clear our minds and try out something new.  Don’t worry, if you were listening because you liked our signature “terrible never ending banter” we’ve got it in spades for you.  We’re starting the new series with a real classic, Shadows of the Empire by Steve Perry (sadly, probably not the lead singer of Journey, but maybe!).  Please enjoy our new breed of nonsense.

  3. As much as I hate to ruin your dreams, there is an official comic that reasserts Vader as the sort of guy who does politics. It’s called “Darth Vader”, and it was mostly about him getting out of middle management hell after the Death Star exploded on his watch.

    Fortunately, it’s by Kieron Gillen, who tends to write good stuff and therefore Vader’s approach to politics is mostly “I don’t give a fuck. I’m going to murder everyone, and if that doesn’t work as a coverup, I clearly didn’t kill enough people.” Even when he’s being clever, it’s the clever of a man who wants to solve all his problems as quickly and directly as possible.

    Unlike this, it’s solid. And it makes it very clear that trying to play Vizzini with Darth Vader is just going to get you ignored or killed.

  5. I have a signed copy of this novel. It is signed “MTFBWY” (may the force be with you). The author is not the singer from Journey.

    This was great to listen to, but if the episode was just nerdy Stormtrooper for an hour, I’d be okay with that.

  6. Eh… Kevin J Anderson’s Young Jedi Knights books got me into Star Wars proper. And I rather think highly of them. Sorry, but must respectfully disagree on your views on him.
