  1. I really like this game, though I agree that experience is a bit of a grind.
    What I do is to formalize the rule that the GM can award heroic abilities when they like. I have a small curated list of basic abilities, and the players can choose from that when they hit milestones in the campaign. And then they can, on top of that, choose freely from the whole list when they hit an 18 skill.
