Ooh, a steampunk one! You can tell because of the brown and the gear and the goggles and all. Oh, I guess it also says steampunk on there, in retrospect I suppose that was a dead giveaway. Anyhow Tephra is definitely drifting in the fantasy direction on the old -punk continuum, with neat races and a whole fantastical path to airshippery, plus it’s all D12 based, which is always fun.
No april fools this year? awww man.
I have not finished the ep yet, but why am I not surprised that Jef knows 3 cheeses I have never heard of off the top of his head?
Uncommonly kind review from these guys, although the game really doesn’t deserve serious abuse.
Can’t say that I thought much of the game’s setting, but the character creation system was a fascinating labyrinth of options. You could definitely make something interesting and effective even at those lower three levels with some effort, although I have grave doubts about how balanced the system was overall. Kind of a shame it never gained any real traction. Last I looked they hadn’t even fulfilled all their crowdfunding promises.
Definitely not really a steampunk-centric game, though. It’s there, but as just one element of a weird fantasy world that drowns it out pretty thoroughly.
